I already posted a Lightbox variation in one of my previous posts, but I got some feedback that the layout wasn't perfect on IE 5 and 6. I found Slimbox, a clone of Lightbox using Mootools, I think it's better because it is a lot lighter and the animations are smoother. My variation of the Slimbox (checkout the demo), has a lighter overlay, and the navigation buttons are always visible at the bottom of the image with the caption centred between them.

This is a great layer style to make content boxes for websites, and it is a nice style to apply to custom shapes in Photoshop. Play around with it, it is very easy to customize the colors and have a bigger blue edge. I am working on making a tutorial of how to make a web layout using this layer style. I also used a similar layer style for my new online portfolio, it is still in development but you can check it out here.
